Genia Photonics introduces a new disruptive patented proprietary fiber-based laser technology.
We see 3 types of applications for Genia's picosecond fiberlaser platform:

  • In biomedical applications, laser users will be able to perform structural imaging such as OCT, perform cell identification including cancer diagnostics by performing non-linear spectroscopy such as CARS and SRS, and ablate tissue; all with a user-friendly fiber-based laser system.
  • Advanced picosecond material processing, where controlling the pulse parameters, such as pulse width, repetition rate, burst-mode, is a key factor.
  • Scientific non-linear spectroscopy and non-linear optics in general - including quantum optics - where the programmability of the laser parameters adds flexibility in experiments.

Genia lasers are portable, fully electronically controlled and programmable.

Programmable tunable laser

  • 20-500ps
  • tunable wavelength and sweep:
        up to 120nm wide tuning
        linear in wavelength
        linear in k-space (wavenumber)
        user defined sweep
  • fast and fully programmable sweeping
        up to 10Mλ/sec with up to 1024 wavelengths
  • nominal pulse repetition rate 10-80MHz, single shot to 250MHz optional
  • 775nm, 840nm, 1.06, 1.31 and 1.56 micron central wavelength
  • pm output fiber
  • extended GUI software for laser parameter control

High power fiber amplified laser (MOPA)

  • 20ps to 200ns operation
  • up to 40W average output power
  • pulse repetition rate variable from 10kHz to 250MHz
  • double pulsing and high speed burst in option
  • 1.06 and 1.56 micron central wavelength +/- 30nm
  • sm or pm output fiber
  • M2 < 1.5
  • extended GUI software for laser parameter control

Synchronized programmable laser

  • combines above programmable laser and MOPA in one laser system
  • wavelength sweeps at up to 100.000 λ/sec while keeping synchronisation and compensating for chromatic dispersion in the experimental setup.
        up to 120nm wide tuning (up to 1000 cm-1)
        linear in wavelength
        linear in k-space (wavenumber)
        user defined sweep
  • dither and delay generator inside
  • timing calibration for chromatic dispersion compensation
  • 25+/-5ps pulses
  • pulse repetition rate 10-50MHz
  • single or double fiber output
