40W Conductively Cooled VCSEL

Princeton Optronics Inc. introduces high-power (40W CW), thermally stable, back reflection immune 808 and 976nm semiconductor laser (PCW-CA1-40-W0808 and PCW-CA1-40-W0976) based on the vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) technology.

The device is composed of a 2-D planar VCSEL array mounted on a high thermal conductivity submount and a copper base. It produces 40W output power in CW mode, with a narrow spectral width (~0.8nm), thermally stable emission wavelength (0.06nm/K), and low beam divergence (NA~0.14).
The device is immune to back-reflections and offers unprecedented reliability since it is not subject to catastrophic optical damage (COD). The device can also be operated in QCW or short-pulsed (<20ns) mode. Such laser is ideally suited for solid state laser pumping and medical applications.

Princeton Optronics is a manufacturer of high power VCSEL arrays at different wavelengths and has a line of products for many applications.
